Originally born in Egypt during the reign of Ramsses II (19th Dynasty) as Chay-Ara, consort and destined wife of Prince Khufu, Kendra Saunders, the present day Hawkgirl, comes into the Hawk legacy from a very troubled past.
Height: 5'6"
Hair color: Dark brown/auburn, cut fairly short.
Eyes: Brown, originally green before her reincarnation as Shiera.
Build: Kendra is on the slightly slender and wiry side of athletic.
Powers and abilities: Kendra, due to her bond with the Thanagarian Nth metal, exhibits the ability to fly. Her wings are artificial (attached by means of a harness); they are controlled by means of both mental command and movements of the muscles in her shoulders and back. She also has increased strength, reflexes, and endurance. She is partially immune to extremes in temperature, able to operate in cold weather without additional clothing. Due to her experiences in her past lives, Kendra is an excellent hand-to-hand combatant, synthesizing combat skills from dozens of different cultures. She is fluent in the use of multitudinous pre-20th century weapons, including spears, halberds, bladed weapons, flails, maces, etc.
The most marked characteristic of both Hawkman and Hawkgirl is their never ending cycle of reincarnation; both Hawkman and Hawkgirl have been reincarnated repeatedly after death for over three thousand years.
Clothing/costume: Unless otherwise noted, Kendra will always be seen at Milliways in her costume, which consists of her wings, green leggings, a green and yellow sleeveless top, and her golden hawk head mask, which obcures the upper half of her face. She also wears very distinctive red boots that come over the knee, with a golden claw spur on the back and a gold bas relief claw motif over the tops of her feet. Kendra wears a brown canvas belt, fastened by a red Nth metal disk with the time honored hawk profile in a black overlay. She will frequently wear cestii, and wraps over her wrists and forearms that serve to anchor red disks of Nth metal. She is almost always armed with a variety of weapons, usually non-ballistic, although she has recently taken to carrying two small electric crossbows.
